Penwith House
Overview
The house was built during the post-war optimism of the Roaring Twenties, and this feeling is felt in its bones and history.
Many of the St Ives school of artists were entertained within the walls; including Barbara Hepworth, Patrick Heron, Bernard Leach, Peter Lanyon, and even Mark Rothko when he visited Cornwall in 1959.
Our design aims to retain the essence of the house and use its history to inform a new interior scheme.
We are also undertaking extensive thermal upgrades of the whole building and introducing a renewable heating source, to ensure the house thrives for another 100 years.
The project is starting on-site in Winter 2023.
